Lunchbox Notes

Delete your account

Last updated 2026-10-21

You can delete your Lunchbox Notes account in the app, or ask us by email if you can’t use the app. Either way, your account is closed at once and erased 14 days later.

In the app

  1. Open the Profile tab.
  2. Tap Delete account at the bottom.
  3. Read what will happen and tap Continue.
  4. Type DELETE and tap Delete account.

You are signed out and your account is closed at once: nothing you send goes out, and your phones stop getting notifications. It is erased after 14 days.

Changed your mind? Sign in again during those 14 days and tap Keep my account. Everything is as it was.

Kids’ devices can’t delete an account. A kid’s lunchbox is deleted by the grown-up who set it up, together with that grown-up’s account.

Without the app

Email contact@lunchboxnotes.app from the email address you sign in with and ask us to delete your account. We only act on emails from that address, so nobody else can delete your account.

We close your account within 14 days and reply to tell you. From then on it works the same as deleting in the app: it is erased 14 days later, and until then you can sign in and keep it.

What is deleted

  • Your name, picture, connect code and sign-in (your email address).
  • Your lunchbox and every note in it: the notes people sent you, and your Memory box.
  • Your kids’ lunchboxes and everything in them, including the notes, messages and photos your kids made. The app names each kid before you confirm.
  • Your drafts, friends, nicknames, blocks, codes and share links.
  • The photos you and your kids uploaded for notes: a draft’s, and any left over from an upload that never made it onto a note. A sent note’s photos are part of its picture.
  • The notification tokens of your devices and your kids’ devices. These go at once, not after 14 days.

What stays

  • Notes you sent stay with the people who received them: they belong to their Memory box. They show as from “Someone who left” instead of your name. A name or signature you wrote on a note, and a photo you put on it, are part of the note’s picture, so they stay on it.
  • Chat messages and reactions you sent stay in those conversations, from “Someone who left”.
  • Reports that involve your account are kept while they are handled. 90 days after a report is closed, the copy of the reported content is cleared.
  • A bare record (an id and dates, no name or email) that your account was erased, kept for one year so we can show it happened.

Our providers’ short technical logs run out on their own, usually within days. See the privacy policy for how long we keep everything.

The waitlist

Waitlist sign-ups are separate from your account. To leave the waitlist, use the link at the bottom of any waitlist email, or write to us.
